The safeguard is the same? The ecu has room to compensate, it will adjust according to the fuel. If your fuel at home is good enough for iam 1, I'd just set it to 1. I have ecutek but use the map switching mostly for extra features (rev match, pops, LC etc). The fuel here in Europe, at least in my area, is so constant that I don't need a safe map. If I do run out of eu98 I'll just stay away from the redline, seeing different maps for different fuel have the most timing difference above 6k rpm (like Wayne roms Ron 98 vs 100 vs 102), just let the ecu do its work
