Only thing i can come up with is track driving puts a lot more forces than street. I was on -2.5 or 3 camber but i dont rub the strut so not sure if thats what cause it. 225/45/17 is also very slightly larger diameter than stock. If you are an aggressive driver i dont know about 9.5. plus you wont be able to have as much camber so you cant utilize all the tire.
I had 18x8.5 +45 in front in the past and didnt rub but i didnt have any seat time back then either. Havent run them since i got these 17x8
I guess it all depends on your priorities
