There is one big plus to 225 though. 225/45/R17 is very common size and tires of that size are usually cheaper then stock size of 215/45/R17. Speedo error is BS, as actually most non ancient cars speedos lie. With slightly larger tires speedo will lie less , so that's not much of an issue. But what is not so good is slightly worse acceleration due changed overall gearing. But still, due cheaper price imho 225/45 still is competitive choice.
