Valid to out of warranty fix? What do you mean by that?

And like said, read your manual. You have a right to have the car serviced by anyone and you also do not have to use OEM parts/fluids.

They said they wouldn't do a out of warranty courtesy because it was serviced by jiffy lube. I talked the dealership today and told them I was going to be towing the car to a nearby shop who quoteed me 6k for a used engine 23k miles and labor with a one year warranty. They told me that they could possibly come under that. Which is a big difference from the 17k they originally stated.
