However, just because you're buying 10% ethanol fuel doesn't mean you're buying "low quality". The quality of the fuel and detergents in it may be high it's just that ethanol has few hydrocarbons then pure petrol so the only real gain in using pure gas may be slightly better fuel economy but it doesn't mean you're getting a cleaner or "better" quality gas regarding your fuel pump.

Yes I understand the "quality" part of it but i'm more concerned about the ethonal inflating the octane rating.

You could always find a station that sells 100 octane and mix it with our 91 to get a boost
But IMO all this shouldn't even have to be done to stop the chirping. This is a Toyota/Subaru problem that we shouldn't have to find solutions on our own
