To be fair, I think it's mostly the rear swaybar links I hear the most noise about, and most people didn't have adjustable bars there before. The car was also not lowered at all.
Those two things change things slightly... at least as far as people worried about stress on the endlinks.
As for ease of removal, yeah. That hasn't changed. It's no better, in my experience, with aftermarket. So on the whole, I'm still just as surprised as you are.
