Spacer puts secondary O2 sensor out of direct exhaust gas steam and limits to what it is exposed to, to supposedly fool ecu as if exhaust checked with this sensor is cleaned up with cat. But as noone among generic owners knows exact algorithms how ecu checks cat efficiency, eg. on what temps, what temp deltas, what O2 content, what vs readings of first sensor, at which engine running stage .. then spacer just reduces chance of CEL to appear, not eliminates it for sure. So if you have aftermarket ecu tune with cat checks disabled, why would you need that spacer (except adding visual cue that catalisators been messed with)? And if that tune won't let pass, spacer has no use with stock catted header bolted back aswell.
