When I first started losing my hair I went the "Hair Club for Men" route for a couple of years until I realized the only person I was fooling was myself. After that I embraced what was left and saved the money.

If there was a magic pill that would make it all grow back, yes I would take it, and I would probably switch out the look every few years or so, but you have to work with what you have.
I have had the mustache for 40 years and it has never been shaved off once in that whole time. I still have all of my hair and almost every time I get it cut they comment on how thick and luxurious it is "for your age". I am never quite sure if I should feel complimented or insulted.
