I think you may be missing my point. I’m not racing anything, no pink slips, no lap times nothing about this would be about speed or top speed anything.

If I was caring about that I’d get a M3 or Mustang heck even a Civic R will wipe the floor with a BRZ.

Also I’m talking about MT not because I think it’s faster but because I want to shift gears. I’ve owned 9 cars with MT the BMW had a dual clutch manual DCT which shifted 10x faster than you can with a MT but I’m not looking for that, the true clutch is going away soon, even the new Supra may not have a MT. I read that Subaru wants to go all automatic transmission so they can use advance braking for safety in all their cars. Soon enough some people will go their whole life never having driven a car with a clutch.

I believe the shorter gearing means you need to be aware of your gear and pay attention somewhat when you are driving more than a car which will do 20-80 mph in second gear.
