So after all the hubbub about oil coolers, how many of us in class have actually done it? People were acting like it was a "must have" item for Autocross... but.. I just don't see it. Last year we did Targa in my car. We had track days mid-August at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Atlanta Motorsports Park, and Memphis International Speedway. I was running an OBD2 logger and most of the time the oil temp never broke 250. The only time it did was at AMP where I finished my session, pulled into the pits, and my co-driver immediately went out for her session without the car having a chance to cool down. It effectively did a 40 minute session with a slight breather for a driver change, and I think it may have gotten just above 260. Also finally got brake fade as she took the checkers and broke for Turn 1... so... it was getting some use.
I think a lot of people felt like an oil cooler was going to be essential for just autocross because of the hype, but I wonder how many people actually went through with it.
