Yeah and I'm one of those people. I've never owned a sports car that weighs more than 3000 lb. But given the choice between more weight w/manual transmision or less weight with auto I will take the weight. And I'll also take a 3800 lb car with a screaming V8 engine over a Supra with it's engine lifted from a 240i.
I've never owned a domestic car but you can't deny the goodness of the Mustang/Camaro

J&D ratings don't mean much if you're planning to own the vehicle more than it's lease/warranty period. BMW's big problems seem to occur soon thereafter. I have nothing bad to say about a BMW ownership experience when a car is new. But that goes without saying really, in 2018 one would expect any car to be trouble free for the first 3-5 years.
