@ Coachrhino11 if you look at the "bare bones" of the car you can see why it would be expensive to add a moonroof. There would have to be some major structural changes by creating a frame for the moonroof or any other type of removeable roof for that matter. (remember we are talking factory additions here, not 3rd party that don't have to worry about things like longevity or safety cages)
There was a rumor floating around at one point that the chassis was originally engineered to be made directly into a convertible without much change, but it was never substantiated I don't believe.

When you look at how hefty the roof side structure is and how light the chassis appears especially from the B pillar back it is pretty difficult to believe that the car was originally designed for ease of a convertible. All there is at the waist line in the rear is that one light cross brace. If you didn't want the car twisting into a pretzel every time you launched there would have to be very major changes to the rear structure to go without that roof.
