I could never justify the ecoboost to myself when the 5.0 is so much more car for not that much less cash. The ecoboost will also depreciate much faster, and it requires premium fuel unlike the GT. The exhaust sound alone makes the GT worth the premium IMO.
I have driven both and the Camaro still feels slightly more pony carish. Probably the seating position and horrid visibility more than the car's actual handling.
The ecoboost fills a void that the GT never will. Not everybody wants all that V8 goodness. They just want to have a Mustang. Even more than the other performance cars on the road the majority of Mustangs are not driven in a performance manner. They are just owned by people that like the whole idea.
