I will not be able to use that extention... after mocking up the fender, I realized that the catch would literally catch on the inside of the opening. This would happen because of opening on the fender being offset in relation to the OEM opening.
However... I may be able to fab up a bracket to hold the OEM door release and use the OEM catch. Once I get the fender temp installed with wing nut draw clecos... I'll figure my latching mechanism out.
