Design-wise...actually when I think about it...pretty much nothing. I actually don't like steering wheel buttons, I personally feel putting the start/stop button on the wheel is a bit idiotic too. The flat bottom wheel...I'm afraid I don't really notice them even on a car that has one. I don't mind losing the analog speedometer if it means we get useful information the really old cars once had like oil pressure, oil temperature, battery, etc. I don't know why you want to delete the manual parking brake because all the other solutions be it the foot parking brake or the really awful e-parking brake...they're much much worse. The shift light...we already got one in the correct place, why put it in a place where you'd have to look away or specifically look for it when turning?

As you can tell simply putting stuff on just for the sake putting stuff on doesn't impress me. I don't like cars that make me feel like an idiot with complicated controls, which is why I don't like Mercedes Benzes right now. There is some beauty in having controls that are simple and intuitive. Toyota and Subaru are probably the masters at automotive control designs. Using my sister's 2017 Impreza takes zero effort to understand all the basic and important controls, the only area it potentially falters is the high tech screen.

My main thing as to what can be improved on our car's interior...its just material choices, but its to be expected because the car isn't hideously expensive. Design improvement-wise there, I'd love to see the steering column particularly the bottom had something softer, be it padding or some softer material for those moments you rush to exit the car and avoid giving your right knee(other knee with RHD) a bruise. I don't like the silver plastic accents only because they don't look good, I've always considered getting those wrapped. Last real thing, lumbar support from the seat, I was lucky I found a great seat position in this car because bad positions give me a back ache really quickly...but for ergonomics sake having it is a real improvement for everyone.

With this as your only car, its really easy to take some of the design choices the interior team made for granted. I hop in and out of a lot cars...and the FRS/BRZ interior was one of the least stressful ones in the driver seat thanks to smart design. Nothing is complicated, nothing is in the wrong place, the layout is very accommodating, the front visibility is actually fantastic, you don't even need to be literate to use them, its how you'd expect everything to be. Even if someone ruined your settings getting them back into order takes nearly no time in comparison. Want to piss me off with interior design? Put me in a Mercedes-Benz and change the language into one I can't comprehend...and tell me simply to change it back. Death by stress is my most likely outcome because a lot of its controls don't make sense and they're worse when you don't understand the language its displaying.

That's how I feel.
