Do it. If you remove the center stack, the clock module snaps out of the back of it. You could easily make a pocket to go in its place or have someone 3D print you one.

I think you're missing the point. It slides. You rest your arm on the armrest. When you need your phone, you lift your arm, slide the armrest back, pick up your phone and use it. Then you put the phone back, slide the armrest forward again and put your elbow on it. I do this all the time with mine without thinking about it.
Or you could just complain about not having an armrest, when a perfectly adequate solution exists.
