highway7. Yes, I replaced the red plastic with clear ones from eBay. Honestly, I was only after the connector b/c I previously purchased the Subaru clear courtesy lamps. However, the eBay kit came with LEDs for $24.90 shipped and I liked the look after I installed them. I'm going to run this pair for a couple of months and if they die I can just popped them off and replace with the Subaru lamps. Link for the item I bought is below.

I highly recommend following his suggestion of having a proper fishing tape and using silicone spray. It took me 45 minutes on the driver side using a make shift fishing tape; passenger side took 5 mins to fish the wires and wire everything up with proper fishing tape and silicone spray.
