Couldn't find a nice calculator for Ontario but the total burden here is said to be 42%.
Well, my property tax is $9,000/yr, gas tax just went up $.15/gal, going up another $.20 this year to pay for moonbeam's train to nowhere. Sales tax is 10%. Etc. Etc... 36% is about right for total state and fed income tax.
