It creates a problem when looking for cheap used parts. If you spend any time in the Jeep section at the u-pull junk yards, you'll see lots of Cherokees and Grand Cherokees and the odd Comanche and Grand Wagoneer, but nary a Wrangler in sight. When wrecked ones get totaled out, Jeep specialists will buy them out of auction and either hoard them for parts or rebuild them because they're still worth something. Where a lot of Cherokees in the yard come from individuals who just want them out of their yards, you can sell a junk Wrangler on Craigslist and still get considerably more than the boneyard would pay.
On the other hand, Wrangler people are mostly mall crawlers anyway. The people who do their own work and would want cheap parts are going to gravitate toward the other models.
