Damage is likely able to be buffed out. I didn't want to report it, but he got the police involved. Now I have to take time out of my day tomorrow to go to the reporting centre.

Sounds like you'd fit right in here in Oslo, though. The general consensus is "if you don't know which lane you're supposed to be in at least 500 meters before the signs tells you which lane you should choose to get to your preferred destination, you have no business driving around here at all and we'll aggressively close all gaps and try to force you off the road, as punishment for not being born in Oslo."
Took me a few years after moving here, but now I'm fully assimilated and drive just like that, too.
