Each morning (almost all of them from December to March) I watch the window to see if it comes down when I open the door. If it doesn't then I scrape the window and take an old hotel door swipe card (any plastic card would do) and run it along the seal between the weather stripping and the glass. Sometimes I have to use some force and chip the ice out between the two but I have never had to reset the windows in 4 winters now.
I actually have to recommend not doing this. I actually destroyed my driver's side weather stripping that way back in 2013-2014 doing this. Maybe I used too thick of a card or something, but beware, it can happen.
