Look if it’s cold out let the car warm up. If it’s warm out let the car warm up. Then drive. When your making coffee in the morning do you put your coffee grounds in the cup with what ever else and add cold water then drink it? No you warm up the water put that in with the grounds brew or press the coffee pour and drink it. Do you your self spring out of bed run in shave or ect rush to work and have a happy and full of energy No you wake up drag your self out of bed get coffee and it takes you at least half hour before your conscious of the world around you. Mechanicals are the same way everything should be operating at the correct level before you put stress on it.
How can it not be the driver everyone who is having the problem is clearly driving wrong. It’s not a work around it’s clearly some people learned to drive wrong. I have never had any issue of putting this car in gear or shifting I think it’s actually one of the smoother shifting transmission I’ve had. My car is compleatly stock. If you can’t figure it out get an automatic still not happy get another car! Every car is a little different it’s up to you to adapt and drive the car not have to car change to suit you. That’s why your the DRIVER!
