Imo, if fun is the only thing you are looking for, then maybe you should consider other drive trains as well, and not just 2-door FR cars. Other possible cars: WRX, Civic Si, Focus ST, Fiesta ST.. etc I'm sure you can find others, but I would steer clear of anything VW, those feel so numb.

Edit: they don't all come with an AT option though
