"minimum preload" means nothing, you can still lower the spring perches and achieve a lower ride height.

If they insist on maintaining the same "preload" then that will have no change to ride height and only create a risk that the spring binds. A stiffer+shorter spring and maintaining "preload" will raise ride height.
