What kind of tune were you running on the car when it blew? My vortech just ate my 2nd engine, so i'm in the same boat. Although I didn't have catastrophic failure like you, I most likely have a ring issue. Last motor was bent rod, but I caught it quickly.

As of last night i'm ready to yank it. Thankfully this motor is a breeze to pull out. You don't have to remove the rad / condenser, but i also was dealing with a minor coolant leak so I pulled it all anyways.

sorry for the late reply on this one; but the reason why I started taking it apart when it was still in the car because at the time I didn't have an engine stand/workbench to take it apart on. So the car was basically acting as the mount for me to work on it. It was the just the flex fuel tune from Moto-East. roughly around 300whp. The car was driven on the tune for a good 2-3 years with multiple track sessions in between. To be honest, I can't be mad. I made it basically to 40k miles. more than half were boosted and daily'd and track driven.

I am still perplexed to this day how/why i had catastrophic engine failure upon deceleration.

PS if you still haven't pulled your motor; don't be like me and forget the two ground wires underneath the engine screwed into the frame on both sides towards the front. I forgot to unbolt those and they got ripped when I pulled my engine. Good luck with future build!
