I'm going to do a lease take over on my car because we are expecting a baby and I tested out the baby seat on the FRS and it's a nightmare.
Also, the baby seat has to be rear facing for the first 2 years by law in my province(state) and that leave zero room for front passenger.

What you can actually do is.
Remove the front passenger seat. And put the baby chair behind you. and your wife would sit in rear passenger seat. Lots space that way Trust me.....? I think.
