Allen could of still gotten some decent playing time and my guess is that Terry will be used at the 1 more to help out there, which would help free up minutes at the 2.
And from watching the way Allen had been playing this season, I thought it was smart of Doc to place him on the bench. That basically helped him keep sufficient minutes and it also kept him to be more fresh throughout a game/season.
And if a guy is on the verge of retirement, then he should know what needs to be done that would be the best for the team, instead of ducking out.
Way too many guys are taking the easy way out lately and is probably is another reason why this more irritating to me. Just never thought Ray Allen would be one of them dudes.
Oh and if Ray Allen ever came back for a 1 or 2 day sign just to retire back in Boston, I'd respect it (Championship, 3pt Champion), but I wouldn't be all up in arms because of what he has done now.
