I hate to tell you but those OEM tires are garbage. If you plan to by some actual high perf tires then expect to get even less distance out of them.

The past three sets of tires I have had were the Dunlop Star Specs. They aren't the tippy top best but they are probably in the top 3. I have been sticking with them because they seem to have the best balance of perf, wear and price. The other thing I like about them is the grip levels don't fall off as they age. They grip like crazy all the way up until they are corded.
