My guess is that is indeed a mockup at the least. Looks like the best Aisin transmission for the job is already used on a Toyota and on some powerful rides down under. The AY6 is used on the Tacoma, LC, Lexus IS, and FJ C. Its also used in the Holden Commodore and Ute (which have big Corvette LS motors...yum.) Also in the Camaro and CTS, also with LS motors of course.

Even if this particular transmission in the picture is not the AY6 mockup, my guess is this will be one that will be used. That's great for us as it is famous for holding 500lb-ft of torque and is smooth as silk in the CTS I drove.
