Sure at national level it doesn't matter but most clubs have their own autox series with trophies & prizes at the end of the season.
And they often use groups of classes e.g. Novice, Street, Touring, Race (Prepared & Modified).
So if I am running in the Street group and I get a handicap every time we have a rainy event (which is about half our events) because unlike the other I can't switch tires. It's not going to be fun running SSC.
So I am proposing an allowance to my clubs that we can run tires in spec size that have a treadwear of 280 or more.
