Reminds me of a time, back-in-the-day, one cold winter, myself and two other researchers and spent a week in the lovely town of Alamosa, CO, collecting soil samples for a case involving a lawsuit against our company.

They sent a corporate jet (a turbo prop - King or Queen Air .. ??) to pick us up.

As we were loading several hundreds of pounds of soil samples, placed all over the floor of the plane, the pilot asked up how much we weighed .....

Then he said ...... that's all we can haul, taking off from 7,000 feet.

He took off by sort of skidding around the end of the runway, while gunning the engines. DAMN ...... I thought that plane would NEVER lift off.

I did NOT want to crash and burn at the end of a runway in Alamosa, CO.

We made it ....... we did not crash ...... oh, that's another thread ......
