You have this notion that everyone knows exactly what they want in a car before they start shopping.
I've also seen this idea that since a person has, let's say, 80k to drop on a car, that this entails that they must then spend that entire 80k on a car and shouldn't consider an FT86. Why?

Two different animals. Again, don't see someone who want's a light nimble car with two seats to cross shop with a large V8 muscle car. Do the Miata forms have many people who were looking for a Mustang? The Miata has none of the characteristics of a Mustang and vice versa.
Again, it will be funny though should the Twins spark the rebirth of certain classic iconic cars, and then they get compared to a Mustang and the common talk will be that they are not the same as the Mustang.
