I've seen smaller dings on creases popped and massaged out to be good, not perfect though. Is it the size that eventually just catches up as it deforms back out?
My wife's last car, an 07 Forester, had a front fender one where someone pushed it in on a crease and they were able to pop it back out, but I think the whole crease was pushed in so maybe that's why it came out so clean/as good as it could.
