Recently started to hear my ACT throwout bearing squeal at idle and in gear.
So I replaced my ACT throwout bearing last weekend with a new OEM unit for the 2017 models, which is stated in the
Subaru TSB as having grease that's more resistant to heat while maintaining proper lubrication. I purchased the part from Toyota (SU003-07349) since it's less than half of what Subaru charges for the exact same part.
So far I've put a couple hundred miles on it and it's very smooth and silent as a TOB should be. Hopefully it lasts. Also put in fresh Nanodrive engine and gear oil at 22k miles when I changed the TOB.
