When I wrote the above conclusion I completely forgot that I did a relatively quantitative test to gauge the difference between OE and carbon synchros. To do this, I attempted to shift the car without the use of a clutch. I do not recommend you doing this with your car, as it does work the synchros harder and can cause grinds.

With the OE synchros, it was impossible to shift the transmission without the use of the clutch. It would grind in every gear, without fail.

With the carbons synchros, I was able to shift the transmission without the use of the clutch in all the gears but 5th. This is about as quantitative as I can be.
