I have that front lip, and I will say this with 100% absolute authority - Subaru is doing the right thing. The front lip DOESN'T CLEAR ANYTHING at stock height. It's really, really obnoxious. I measured it against a buddy's '13 that's lowered 1.5" and I have almost an inch less clearance at the lowest point of the lip than his stock '13 bumper.
Fixing the dynamics is easy, MCA traction mod -> done.
