^ If the masses 'desired' an 86 more than a Mustang/Camaro you'd see the sales numbers flip and Subaru would be in overdrive producing as many as possible and Ford/Chevy would be in panic redesigning the next gen to be much lighter and more competitive with the 86 on handling at the expense of power.
