Unless you actually drive one, spiritedly, you will never truly understand the reason behind its popularity, and cult status. Its not faster than most current econoboxes in a straight line, its extremely unforgiving at its limit thanks to its solid rear axle and short wheel base, and the chassis is as loose as a Las Vegas prostitute, but damn....DAMN....DAMMMMN, is it fun to drive. There's no math behind the AE86 to convert numbers into fun. Its just how the car is. Damned fun to drive. I honestly can't give any other explanation to it.

I test drove my AE86 one day after spotting it in my old neighborhood and didn't look back. Everything to how it felt on the road, connected, to the 4A-GE, screaming at me to rev it more, etc.....I had to have it. I sold a SUPRA to own this car, and I would do it again.
so true, I personnally prefer to drive my rusted can AE86 sr5 converted to gts, than my girlfriends slightly moddded civic 1999 vtec, the AE86 make me feel alive, I've never driven a car that fun to drive, maybe it's the same about the LFA
