Since you edited, here's the answer to your question:

In 2006, Ford sold 166,530 Mustangs in the US and 9,150 in Canada.

The FRS/86/BRZ sold in North America combined for MY 2013 - present has not even hit the amount of Mustangs sold in a single calendar year.

Which would have cheaper parts? I'm sure you can figure out the rest... so don't compare a car that's more popular than a Prius to the FRS/86/BRZ because it's not a good comparison in an industry where volume = cheaper prices.
