Sweet I think you are right that should make things a whole lot easier. Everything was connected and there was no fuel leaking so it's probably the ECU not being connected properly. I'll try connecting it to the right wire on the ECU and let you know how it goes. instead of cutting any of the stock wiring use the rear o2 connectors and depin the wires and use the rear o2 for power ground and signal.
i can help you with few things i have made my own kit it was mostly premade didnt have to do lots of work except the wiring from the gauge.
