I own both an AT and a MT. I prefer the MT when competing or otherwise driving at the limit, but prefer the AT for everything else. Heck, when we made road trips to the various competitions we attended this year ,I would have liked to have been in the AT for the trip there and back....particularly when stuck in stop-and-go traffic on a couple of the trips.
At the limit, I prefer the MT, but I spend comparatively little time in that mode of driving. The AT does a much better job at performance driving than the MT does at comfort driving in stop-and-go traffic.
For DD with no plans of serious competition driving, I would go with the AT. If the twin is going to be a weekend fun car and/or track car, I would go with the MT.
