I wouldn't spend thousands of dollars to go see one, but had I not already been through it (twice) it would have been worth driving the couple of hundred miles I would have had to drive today to be fully in the shadow.
It goes from what you saw today to 2am dark back to light in just a few minutes.

Saw the full in 79 and yes was slightly more impressive. What I meant was the hype made it sound like there was going to be some spectacular show when the reality is other than the brief dark period it is just a dark circle inside a bright circle.
