That would be inaccurate, as the car still has a stereo system (speakers, amp, etc.) The head unit is optional in the sense of you have a few to choose from or go without. So in a GT 86 Limited, for example, you could go without a head unit but you'd still have the other components in the car. It's basically for people who don't want to bother with a Toyota head unit and go for an aftermarket one. Anyone could do that if they wanted though, but this is part of the reason I left that out.
The factory option units are not suited for North American use and a delete isn't accurate unless you're going for an RC conversion in which case you'd be stripping everything anyway. Now, removal of the extra two speakers from the BRZ may be an option if you want to get that picky but again, I don't know where they are located.

that said I'm more interested in smoker shields. I don't smoke but they keep rain out of my face, I'm a sucker for keeping the windows open a little. Or maybe the "driving support" system which tells you if you're close to other vehicles. On all four corners.

Thanks for the confirm. The only reason I'd see going without as an option is if someone didn't like the Toyota head units and wanted to go with an after market one, save them the trouble removing.
Never heard those called "smoker shields" before, they're called rain guards around here. I'm curious what those do for smokers lol
