I'm not sure how much this says anything, but if I'm not mistaken the F in the engine codes designate an economy designed engine, and a G designates a performance based engine (ex: 2AR-FE, 3S-GE). Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this would be accurate considering the tC's engine is taken from the Camry.
I'm not saying this makes the tC a horrible car (and I say that to cover my ass for our fellow tC owners) but I feel that Scion has always been a half-assed effort and that it would be nice if there was actually something designed specifically for what it is being advertised to be.

Man if I had a dollar for every time someone said something about the engine being shared with the Camry. Guess that makes it a Camry, Rav4, and Corolla XRS all at the same time because they share a 2az-FE. Oh but wait, it has the same braking system as the Celica GTS....guess that makes it a Celica too.
In that aspect, the 240sx must be a truck also cause it got it's motor from one....
tC has NEVER been advertised to be a race car end of story. Don't get where you get this marketing from about promoting it to be something it's not. You see a commercial for Drifting with Tanner Foust on it in the tC and it get followed up by a Scion sales pitch? NO.....ya haven't because they have NEVER made a commercial in that aspect.
Just because Scion pumped money into the motorsports industry on some tC's (which they made championships out of), don't mean they made some marketing commercials for the general public to say...."Hey this is what you get from the dealership".
Does Mazda pump money into club racing Miata's or Miata race cars?
Does Honda pump money into Civic SI race cars?
Does Dodge pump money into SRT4 race programs?
Does Ford pump money into Mustang Drift programs?
What's the damn difference if Scion pumps money into a tC racing program? If you ask me, they did a better job and stimulating industry growth than anyone else has been for the past 5 years. The aftermarket grew essentially overnight for it.
