How slippery are the PSS tires in the snow, even if I drive like a granny?
....Here in Maryland the weather is unpredictable, one year it snows a lot, others hardly an inch, but the winter only lasts 1-2 months.

I know summer tires are terrible during winter, but i'm wondering how bad. I don't want to switch tires either. Also I don't commute very long.

Will the salt/snow affect the tires grippy compound and cause pre mature wear?
The tires will be destroyed. You can't even store the MPSS below a certain temp, let alone use them for driving. The compound can't repeatedly freeze and warm up, that would just ruin them in one season. I wouldn't even dream of using them in the winter, but I am in canada after all lol. Even winter tires aren't enough sometimes.
