On my old GoPro, it was hit and miss whether the external mic ever worked.
On my Garmin XE, it always works, but you have to select it when you turn on the camera which is a bit of a pain. Not sure why it just doesn't select that as default when it sees the cable. With the camera inside on the CruiseCam, you would have to tilt the camera down to see the external mic setting, and then swivel back to point out of the windshield. I'll probably do that for Nationals, but it's not too bad as you can hear above.
