I also think (seems like...) if you start the sequence too quickly, before the instruments finish their power-on-self-test, it won't catch. 30 seconds is a long time. Once I start though, I buzz through it in a flash. No need to actually do it slowly.
I'll try the shortcut.

You are so right, it is very picky.

I am happy to say I did it THREE times in a row just now. I think I finally got it.
