I've been on bitog recently reading Blackstone VOA's and UOA's. Good stuff but I'm not always sure I can trust Blackstone's suggestions which often asks us 86's drivers to try 8000 mile oil changes.

I've been doing Castrol Edge 0w-20 oil changes for about 45,000 miles and its worked good for 5000 mile oil change intervals. Great oil when its fresh and the engine loves it. However I don't think the oil holds up past a 5000 mile OCI, noting what feels like piston scrape on startup on cold days, and also rough running conditions on used oil once i get about 4000-5000 miles, depending on driving habits. Also getting about a quart of oil consumption per OCI lately.

I might try Pennzoil UP on next oil change and see if consumption and oil stability long-term is better. From what I've seen on bitog they are very similar oils compared to Castrol, however bitogs VOA/UOA's might be somewhat outdated.
