I've had two things repaired on warranty. Excessive wear on the driver seat (substandard leather IMO) and developing rust on that infamous window pillar. My dealer has been nothing but good to me.

I have been invited to a "Toyota Track Day" once a year since I bought the car. First year I contacted them and asked if participation would void my warranty. They said "yes, it might", as I expected.
Called my insurance company and asked if such an event was covered. They said "no", as expected.
So no matter who asks; my car has never been on a track, I have never broken traction or the speed limit, and I always drive as if my grandma is in the passenger seat.

There's a difference between what the car is designed for and what the legal contract of warranty covers. This should not be a surprise.
The car is designed to be easy to modify and to be fun on the track. You do those things on your own risk. If you don't, there's good warranty coverage. Seems fair to me.

EDIT: To avoid confusion, this is a '13 GT86 in Norway, so warranty and insurance is probably different from the US.
