You might want to check into that.

I've purchased three houses in CA, one in CT, one in MO and one in WA and never paid the buyers agent (your real estate agent/broker) anything. I've brokered hundreds (maybe a thousand) properties in the state of WA and the buyer never paid for real estate services. The seller paid.

Having said that, there are other fees (called closing costs) that the buyer is obligated to pay. Some of the buyers closing costs can be paid by the seller.

Always check with your real estate broker, lender, escrow and title company for fees (if any) that apply to your local market.
